PRACTICE AREAS: Domestic Relations Law.

In October 1995, Ms. Friedman was named one of Washington's "Top Forty" divorce lawyers by Washingtonian Magazine. Ms. Friedman has extensive experience in representing employees and spouses of employees of international organizations, including The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Ms. Friedman presently serves as an Alternative Dispute Facilitator for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia's Alternate Dispute Resolution ("ADR") program. Ms. Friedman is also a trained mediator.

Ms. Friedman has served as an instructor in the Nuts and Bolts of Divorce, Continuing Legal Education Course, Georgetown University Law Center, 1992, and as a delegate to the District of Columbia Judicial Conference, 1984-1999.

Ms. Friedman currently volunteers for the Montgomery County Commission for Women and responds to telephone inquiries regarding divorce and custody matters. She also serves as a mentor for the D.C. Bar PSAC Advice and Referral Clinic.

MEMBER: Montgomery County and American Bar Associations (Member, Family Law Section); District of Columbia Bar (Member, Family Law Section) Maryland State Bar Association, Inc.; Woman's Bar Associations of District of Columbia, Montgomery County and Maryland. Ms. Friedman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and during 2001 and 2002, she served as President of the D.C. Chapter of the AAML.

Ms. Friedman is a member of the Fundraising Board of Make the Road by Walking, a not-for-profit, membership-led community organization based in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
